Tom Herr is a bassist, guitarist, songwriter, producer, and arranger based in Lancaster, PA. He’s been playing professionally in the Central Pennsylvania area for the past 6 years, primarily specializing in jazz, pop, and musical theater. As a jazz bassist, he is most often found performing with the Bailey Fulginiti Quartet and Todd Fulginiti Trio around Lancaster County. Bailey and Tom also perform as a duo together, playing rock and pop hits by artists such as The Beatles, Elvis, Adele, Norah Jones, and many more. Tom feels equally at home playing jazz in the corner of a bar, or in the pit of a theater performing classic musicals such as Beauty and the Beast, Into the Woods, and My Fair Lady, and others.
Tom is classically trained on the upright bass, having studied under John Yerger in Lititz, PA, Dominick Fiore and Stephen Groat in Allentown, PA, and Wolfgang Harrer in Vienna, Austria. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music performance from Muhlenberg College, where he also performed with the college’s chamber orchestra and big band. Tom’s favorite musical inspirations include Charles Mingus, Ron Carter, Joe Dart, Sam Wilkes, and Cory Wong.
Tom lives in Lancaster with his girlfriend and dogs, Benny and Giselle.
